Wool from the Wensleydale is acknowledged as the finest luster long wool in the world. It is an endangered breed and is categorized as "at risk" by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

A rich black like this fleece can be hard to find as most sheep fade to brown in the sun! The fleece has tight well defined curls and a pretty luster.

The backing material is black merino wool felt.
