Wool from the Wensleydale is acknowledged as the finest luster long wool in the world. It is an endangered breed and is categorized as "at risk" by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

This fleece is extremely soft and silky. It has well defined curls and is almost black with some sunkissed brown tips. The backing material is black wool felt. This rich black color is hard to find as most sheep fade to brown in the sun.
